Green Juice | Cold & Flu Remedy
You know that random summer cold that likes to come around? Fight it with this juice. Maybe its the pollen or the flight home from the beach that got you feeling not so great. A great way to build your immunity during sickness is through juicing because you pack in high amounts of nutrients that alkaline and clear mucus out of your body.
Colds and flus are both viral infections that usually occur during the winter but can also happen in the summer, making them even more annoying. A virus enters into your body and attaches to cell lining in your nose, throat, and deeper into your body. The flu usually comes on quickly with more serious symptoms. Whereas, a cold manifests slowly with a cough, congestion, and sore throat. The quicker you can implement plants and herbs the quicker you will heal!
Pineapple: Contains the enzyme, bromelain, which is anti-inflammatory and combats infections and bacteria. Highly suggest if you have a cough.
Cucumber: very hydrating for the cells, contains minerals and vitamins, lowers blood sugar, keeps you regular, and helps push out toxins.
Rainbow Chard: Contains 13 different polyphenol antioxidants. ONE cup contains 44% of the daily recommended allowance of Vitamin A, and 18% of Vitamin C, and it has 374% of Vitamin K and you are definitely getting more than one cup with this recipe.
Ginger: Antibacterial, increases circulation through the chest, breaks up mucus, treats nausea and motion sickness, reduces inflammation, aids digestion, boosts immunity, promotes cell growth, high in antioxidants.
Recipe (makes 32oz):
1 bunch rainbow chard
1-2 inches of ginger
