Homemade Vanilla Oat Milk

This homemade dairy free milk will change your lattes and cookie experience for the rest of your life. It’s smooth, creamy, and rich in flavor with no unnecessary ingredients that make you question what you are consuming. Any plant based milk is the better choice compared to any dairy option but can still contain additives. Some fillers to avoid are: carrageenan, vegetable oils, natural flavors (just a loop hole that health food companies are regulated to use to confuse the consumer). Plant/nut based milk is a great alternative to dairy when you are switching to a plant based diet and will help reduce congestion, digestive issues, and to clear up your skin. Our bodies are simply not made to consume dairy products. almond milk

What you’ll need

- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 4 cups of filtered water
- 2 medjool dates
- organic vanilla extract

- glass jar for storing milk
- cheesecloth
- magic bullet or blender
- measuring bowl (with pouring spout)

Step 1

If using a magic bullet, you will have the split the batch in half for blending. I got my blender in the mail right after I made this. Either way works! Measure out your filtered water and pour the oats in.

Step 2

Pour in the vanilla extract.

Take out the seed in the date(s) and add to batch.

Step 4

Blend all ingredients together.

Step 5

Place cheesecloth over measuring bowl and slowly pour liquid on top.

Grab the outside edges of cheesecloth and close tightly. Squeeze the cloth with your other hand to release all the liquid.

Step 7

Pour and store! Keep in a glass container up to 4-5 days. Mine never lasts that long because its so delicious!
